 Jasper County’s non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rate climbed to 3-percent last month according to Iowa Workforce Development. The county’s jobless rate in September was 2.7-percent. Iowa Workforce Development says 550 of the county’s 18,220 workers were unemployed in October compared to 490 jobless out of 18,200 in September. The highest non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in Jasper County this year was 3.9-percent in January. The lowest rate of 2.2-percent occurred in April.

Iowa Workforce Development says Jasper County’s 2.7-percent September and 3-percent October rates match the statewide unemployment rates for those months.. According to Iowa Workforce Development, 51,500 Iowans were looking for work last month compared to 46,100 in September.
