The Knoxville Community School District has made a change to their bus pass policy.

A social media post by the school district on behalf of the transportation department states:

“After multiple communications and conversations with parents and students about the importance of carrying and keeping track of the bus pass; we have reached a point that now requires a stricter policy. Students are required to have their bus pass with them every time they ride the bus to and from school. This bus pass is MANDATORY!

When your student has his/her pass with them to scan, it ensures the student is on the correct bus and is used for attendance purposes as well. This is a great opportunity to instill the value of responsibility in your student. Please make it part of a routine to check that your student has the bus pass prior to sending him/her on the bus. We find it works best when the bus pass is secured to the backpack.

After returning from Thanksgiving Break, students without a bus pass will NOT be provided transportation until a replacement is in his/her possession.  You will need to make other arrangements for your student to get to and from school.”

If your student does not have a bus pass please email transportation@kcsd.k12.ia.us for assistance.
