The Knoxville Chamber of Commerce and THRIVE Knoxville kicked off the holiday season by hosting their annual Living Windows event Thursday night in downtown Knoxville.

The town square and many storefront windows were decorated for this year’s theme, “Sitcoms”. The festivities began with the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony on the lawn of the Marion County Courthouse. Additionally, the evening included a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, a snowball drop, carriage rides, and more. Knoxville Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Nathan Sage said he was grateful to see a great turnout for the event.

“Living Windows was an awesome night. Thrive did an awesome job, and the chamber being a part of Thrive’s event is awesome to see. It was also really awesome as well to see the turnout that we had, despite the cold weather. I hope everybody got some good prizes, but pay attention to social media over the next few days as we will be putting out the costume photo contest out there for people to vote on, as well as letting everybody know who won the grand prize from the scavenger hunt. So, it is a great night and we’re excited and happy to do it.”

The KNIA/KRLS Lil’ Big Red Radio was also at the event playing Christmas music.
