As soon as the fall season wrapped up Thursday, the winter calendar now begins just a day later for the Pella sports teams as the basketball girls travel to Atlantic for the first event of the 2024-25 indoor season.

Pella is coming off of two consecutive regional final appearances, but will have to replace a deep senior class from the 2024 team. Dutch Girls Head Basketball Coach Blaine Forsythe says they are working to put the pieces together with a wide range of talented athletes who make up the new roster.

Atlantic and the Dutch played for the first time in 2023, with Pella earning a 70-43 win to begin last year’s winter slate. The Trojans return the vast majority of their squad, led by now-senior Paytn Harter, who averaged 16 points and eight rebounds per game as a junior.

First tip for the Pella girls basketball team at Atlantic begins at 6:00 tonight.
