IMPACT Community Action Partnership will hold a pop-up event in Knoxville on Thursday, December 5th regarding energy bill assistance.

IMPACT is promoting the program they offer called the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). The LIHEAP program can help low income individuals with their energy bills. The event in Knoxville will be from 10:30 am – 3:30 pm at the Knoxville Public Library, and those interested in the program can meet with IMPACT to discuss options and see if they qualify. Those who attend should bring social security cards for all household members, household income and demographic information, and utility account information. Jessi Balk with IMPACT encourages more people in Marion County to utilize these services.

“I think that a lot of people just don’t know about LIHEAP and the energy assistance program or maybe they don’t qualify for those programs, or they think they don’t qualify for those programs, but we do have a lot of data that show we are reaching only a small portion of people who could qualify for those services. We just want to make sure that people are aware of those services and they aren’t afraid to call us up to see if they can get some assistance.”

There will also be a pop-up event at Bussey City Hall on Tuesday and the Melcher-Dallas Public Library on December 10th.
