Three appointments and a new hire for the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department were unanimously approved by the Jasper County Board of Supervisors this week. Sheriff John Halferty sought the appointments of Brandon Blom and Wyatt Dillon to Deputy Sheriff, and Nicholas Aldrich to Paramedic Reserve Deputy.
“Brandon was certified already and is doing fantastic. He is on an overnight shift and will be out on his own soon. Wyatt is not certified but is also doing fantastic. He is scheduled to go to the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy in January.”
The Iowa Law Enforcement Academy is in Johnston. Sheriff Halferty also told the County Supervisors it’s nice to have Nicholas Aldrich fill the dual Reserve Deputy/Paramedic role. The hiring of Micah Aurand as a $23.00 an hour part-time Advanced Life Provider Paramedic was also approved
