It’s the Season of Gratitude at Central College, which is a campus-wide challenge to promote the importance of helping others and to bring peace and joy to individuals.
The Season of Gratitude features a variety of events including food drives, clothing drives, toy drives, service projects, and more. Assistant Dean of Students Kristi Leonard says that the challenge is part of Central’s identity and that the spirit of the Season of Gratitude isn’t confined to the just over month-long recognition of the initiative.
“One, it’s part of our mission, it’s part of our ethos. It’s who we are at Central. We like to give back, we like to serve others, and that really goes hand in hand with gratitude. So, I think that’s a big part of it. It’s already who we are, but it’s also not just the season, we are focusing on it this season, but really this is a year round thing for us. We do gratitude type of events, we do service types of events all year round.”
