IMPACT Community Action Partnership will be in Newton tomorrow to provide information and take applications for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, also known as LIHEAP. Those who would like to apply for assistance, need to bring social security cards for all household members, household income information including most recent available pay stubs or tax returns if applicable, and utility account information. The LIHEAP program can help low income individuals with their energy bills, especially in the winter months when it costs more to heat a home. Jessi Balk with IMPACT would like to see more people utilize the program. She says the organization has a lot of data showing they are reaching only a small portion of the people who qualify for financial help. The Impact Pop-Up event Wednesday in Newton, with no appointment needed, will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Discover Hope, 733 First Avenue East.
