The Melcher-Dallas Boys Basketball Program is looking to improve from just one win last season. Coach Matt Bennett says to do that ball security and shot selection must improve. Bennett adds he team while still pushing the tempo, needs to work the ball inside and not take too many ill-advised shots.
Bennett: “So winning that turnover battle and not forcing it. Working the ball inside and not taking a lot of shots outside. I expect that to change a lot this year. Plus having home games, we get to practice in the gym we’ll be playing in so I think our shooting percentage will improve.”
The Saints will get the season started on Tuesday at Pleasantville while the home opener in Melcher-Dallas’s new gym will be Thursday in a varsity double header against Southeast Warren.
