The Iowa Football Coaches Association has recognized four Norwalk players on their 2024 All-State Football teams. Warrior senior Kolton Borcherding-Johnson and junior Eli Robbins were both named to the Class 4A First Team. Sophomore Luke Brewer and senior Harrison Tripp are on the 4A Second Team.

A three-year letterman, Borcherding-Johnson started at offensive right guard and defensive nose guard this season and made the All-State list on defense. The 6-foot-2, 260-pounder recorded 46.5 total tackles, tying for the team lead with seven tackles for loss and recording two sacks. He recovered one fumble and returned an interception 35 yards for a touchdown at Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson.

Robbins (6-foot, 190) started the season splitting time between quarterback and receiver, but did not attempt a pass in the final seven games. The All-State receiver caught 39 passes for a team-high 589 yards and 10 touchdowns. He added 325 rushing yards and three TDs and passed for 216 yards and two scores. Robbins also had a great season in the defensive backfield, finishing with 28.5 tackles and four interceptions. His 95-yard pick-six was the key play in Norwalk’s 21-7 upset win at defending state champion Lewis Central.

Brewer was named to the 4A Second Team as a 6-foot-5, 220-pound tight end, and was equally productive as a pass catcher and a blocker. Brewer, who received several NCAA Division I offers prior to his sophomore season, led the Warriors with 44 receptions for 493 yards and two touchdowns. He was also an effective rush end on defense, totaling 21 tackles, seven TFL and a team-high four sacks.

Tripp, a three-year letter winner, started at right tackle and defensive end for Norwalk but made the All-State list as a punter. The 6-foot-2, 220-pounder averaged 39.3 yards on 32 attempts and was successful on multiple fake punts. He registered 31 total tackles, seven tackles for loss and three sacks.

Norwalk was this year’s Class 4A, District 6 champion with a 5-0 record. The Warriors qualified for the 4A playoffs and finished 6-4 overall.
