The holiday season in Pella kicked-off this week with the annual Tour of Stores and Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Monday.
Residents from Pella, as well as people from across the state, gathered in the Central Business District to celebrate the start of the holidays in the Tulip City. As part of the Tour of Stores, businesses in downtown Pella had extended hours from 5 to 8 pm, and Marion County Bank sold discounted Pella Bucks. During the tree lighting ceremony, a proclamation was given by Mayor Don DeWaard and Christmas Carols were sung by students at Pella and Pella Christian schools.
