The Christmas Season at the Pella Opera House has begun and runs through Saturday, December 7th.
In addition to their ongoing Festival of Trees celebration, the Pella Opera House will have three concerts during the holiday season. The first concert, Traditions of Christmas at the Opera House, will be held on Sunday at 2 pm. The performance will feature traditional Christmas favorites performed on the Barton Theatre Organ. Executive Director Cyndi Atkins says they have added a new concert this year, with Christmas and the Weary Ramblers taking place at 7 pm on Thursday, December 12th.
“The Weary Ramblers is a duo, a male and female duo, that are just an amazing group that perform on all sorts of different instruments but they’re going to be singing the traditional Christmas music. They’re also going to be singing some of their own music. You can listen for fiddle, harmonica, and much more. It’s just amazing to hear them perform. ”
The final concert will be on Friday, December 20th, when Jordan Smith returns to the Pella Opera House for his Christmas concert. This will be Smith’s third time at the Opera House for the Christmas season. Smith was showcased on the national stage in 2015, when he became the “Best-selling artist in the history of NBC’s The Voice” and the winner of Season 9 of the show.
