Work has started to repair the heritage gym in the Pella Community Center. The space has been closed for more than six years due to several ceiling tiles falling. Pati Van Zante with the Friends of the Pella Community Center non-profit organization says the group is funding repairs to the space, which has started with removal of the tiles. She says the city intends to make the gym usable again in the near future. Just over $1.4 million of private money has been raised overall to complete extensive renovations to the historic Pella building. Find out how to contribute here.
