The First Annual Jasper County EMS Impact Conference will be held at the Newton DMACC Campus on Saturday and Sunday, December 7th and 8th. Jasper County Emergency Management Agency Director Jamey Robinson says all EMS Professionals in the County are invited to attend, and will get two days of learning, networking, and growth. Members of Unity Point Life Flight & MercyOne Air Med are scheduled to lead sessions on the latest advancements in emergency medical services. Robinson adds those EMS Professionals who attend this free conference can earn up to 16 FREE Continuing Education Units (CEUs). The Jasper County Emergency Management leader believes most people take having local EMS services for granted.
“It is one of the things that’s overlooked. A lot of people think when they call 9-1-1 they are going to get an ambulance. Here in Jasper County you are going to get an ambulance, but there are places you might not. EMS is not an essential service in the state of Iowa, which is unfortunate. Everyone thinks it is, but it is not.
Both days of next weekend’s First Annual Jasper County EMS Impact Conference at the Newton DMACC Campus will begin at 8 a.m.
