It is not a secret that the South Central Conference is one of the top wrestling conferences in the state. Knoxville, while young, will try to get a few individual champions this season and see where the team scores fall. Knoxville Coach Skylar Spaur tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the conference, like his team is young, but hopes that in a couple of seasons, it can get back to where it was a few seasons ago.

Spaur: “I really expect the level of competition to go up to the level where we had 5-6 state champions a year. The level of competition gets better, we all get better.”

The Panthers first conference dual meet is a quad at Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont on December 19th. The Panthers open up the season at Nevada on Thursday.
