The transition from Jasper County Sheriff John Halferty to Sheriff-elect Lt. Brad Shutts at the end of this year brings with it a promotion for a longtime Jasper County Sheriff’s Office employee. Lt. Shutts has selected dispatcher Paul Klein to be the Director of the Communication Center at the Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff elect says Klein has worked for the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department for over two decades.

“We are talking over twenty-five years. He has great knowledge of the inner workings of the Communications Center and will be a great asset to us.”

Klein will begin his new position on December 28.
