The City of Newton claims to have one of Central Iowa’s largest free Christmas light displays at Maytag Park. 

More than 200 lighted displays are now available for drive-thru viewing nightly through January 1st, 2025. The lights were turned on for the first time this season for a walk through this past Friday night, as part of the Jasper County Courthouse Lighting Celebration. This past Saturday and Sunday were the first drive-thru viewing opportunities. The free annual Maytag Park Holiday Lights display is organized by the City of Newton and sponsored by Clemon-Maki Insurance in Newton. Viewing each evening is from dusk to 11 p.m.
