Marion County Public Health held their monthly providers meeting on Monday.

The meeting provides healthcare and community organizations an opportunity to inform the public of updates within their respective organizations. A large group of community healthcare organizations and others showed up at this week’s meeting to share information. There is also a presenter at each meeting, and on Monday Allison Kerndt spoke about Families First of Pella. Families First is a non-profit organization striving to support local families and Kerndt talked about what the organization offers, including their parenting classes. Del Bennett with Marion County Public Health says organizations like Families First of Pella are significant to have in Marion County.

“It’s important because there are so many things going on with kids nowadays. Technology, games, and all of that. This just supports the parent and gives them new tools and new ideas.”

The Marion County Providers meeting is held the first Monday of every month. Hear more from Bennett on an upcoming Let’s Talk Knoxville.
