The Pella City Council approved a series of resolutions at a meeting that neared three hours in length Tuesday evening.
Among the agenda items moved forward were a revised 28E Agreement for the South Central Regional Airport Agency, an application for a Grid Resilience Grant for the automated metering infrastructure project, and a set of public hearings for building, electric, and residential building codes.
Two ordinances had first readings approved, including an amendment to city code regarding criteria for historic district overlay zone reviews and a series of rate increases related to Pella TV services. Another was adopted for the Prairie Ridge West Urban Renewal Plan and property tax collection.
The meeting was extended by several public comments to begin the regular session and nearly an hour and a half of discussion about the long term facility plan, focused on efforts to move both renovation of the Pella Community Center and potential construction of a new indoor recreation facility to the next phase. Formal action on both projects is expected at the December 17th meeting. More details about both will be available soon.
