A Knoxville woman has been arrested for an alleged felony burglary.
According to court records, on Tuesday at approximately 3:09 pm, Knoxville police officers were dispatched to 914 N. Grant St. for a report of a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, 40-year-old Angela Asberry was observed by police running westbound away from the residence with a male running after her. The male explained that when he got home, he noticed that the downstairs door and the door to his bedroom were open and the lights were on, which was unusual to him. He added that he tried to open his bedroom door and found Asberry behind the door.
The male then drew his weapon on Asberry and informed her he was calling the police. Asberry then fled from the residence and the male informed officers that his money jar from his dresser was on his bed and coins were dumped out. Asberry is charged with Second Degree Burglary which is a Class C Felony. Asberry is being held in the Marion County Jail on a $10,000 bond and is due in court for a preliminary hearing on December 13th.
