The Pella Hy-Vee store and the Central College football team partnered up this fall to make an impact on residents throughout Marion County.
Members of the Dutch football team, Pella and Oskaloosa Hy-Vee District Director Dalton Buck, and Pella Hy-Vee Store Manager CJ Porterfield delivered 32 sacks of groceries to the Pella Community Food Shelf to represent the 32 sacks made by the Central defense this season. Buck, who became the District Director at the Pella and Oskaloosa Hy-Vee’s in February, says he has appreciated seeing the great relationship that they have with the Food Shelf.
“This is my fifth Hy-Vee now, so coming up through the ranks of Hy-Vee I’ve seen a lot of different things, and food banks, and helping out, but honestly this partnership is probably one of the best I’ve seen and we work really well together.”
Buck also says that Hy-Vee is always looking for unique and creative ways to make an impact at the Food Shelf and in the community.
