The Pleasantville girls basketball team defeated Wayne in overtime Thursday night and the boys and girls wrestling teams both competed.
The Trojan girls basketball team beat the Falcons 54-47. It was a one point game at halftime and remained a one point game going into the fourth quarter. Both teams were tied at 46 at the end of regulation and Pleasantville outscored Wayne 8-1 in the extra period to secure the win. Pleasantville was led in scoring by Taylor Perkins who had 21 points and Joelle Johnson who had 17. The Trojans improve to 2-1 overall and they and the boys team will take on Earlham tonight at home in a varsity doubleheader.
The Trojan boys wrestling team started their season Thursday night with a 3-0 sweep at a quad hosted by Southeast Warren. Pleasantville defeated Martensdale St. Marys 64-16, Moravia 58-9, and Southeast Warren 50-30. The boys will next compete on Tuesday at PCM.
The Trojan girls competed at North Mahaska and fell to Cardinal 42-9 and North Mahaska 36-12. The Trojan girls will next compete on Saturday at Newton.
