After five successful seasons at the helm of the Central College women’s golf team, Tabitha Schumacher is leaving the program.

Schumacher, the 2022 American Rivers Conference Coach of the Year, led her team to a conference title in 2022 and three other runner-up finishes at the American Rivers Conference Championships. Her golfers had 14 total all-conference finishes across five seasons, including an individual medalist effort by Lydia Grond in 2022.

In a statement released by Central, Vice President for Athletics Eric Van Kley said, “We’re grateful for Coach Schumacher’s contributions to Central College and the women’s golf program. She took the job at a difficult time during the COVID-19 pandemic and led the team through a very successful run at the conference championships.”

Central will immediately begin a national search for her replacement.
