The Melcher-Dallas Basketball Squads split with Moravia on Friday as the girls won 51-31 while the boys lost 69-48. Addi Wadle scored 24 points on Friday while Kesley Reed scored nine points and grabbed 13 rebounds, and Gabby Overgaard scored eight points and took down seven boards. The boys in Coach Matt Bennett’s words were a completely different team from Thursday’s loss to Southeast Warren. A slow first quarter did not deter the Saints as they built momentum. Drew Heaberlin scored 21 points to lead Melcher-Dallas. Bennett told KNIA Sports it was a marked improvement from the night before. Melcher-Dallas will head to Murray on Tuesday.
