After the girls squads clashed on Thursday, the Pella Christian and PCM boys basketball teams will square off on Eagle Lane Monday night.
The Eagles are off to a 2-0 start to the season, grabbing wins over Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont and Oskaloosa to begin the winter. Meanwhile, the Mustangs are 1-1 on the young season, after falling to West Marshall last Tuesday and beating Saydel on Friday. Dating back to 2007, Pella Christian holds an 19-6 advantage in the matchup, and have won the last six meetings. Coming off a hard fought win against Oskaloosa Friday night, Eagles head coach Marv Van Wyk says he feels like his squad is well prepared for Monday’s matchup against PCM.
“They’ve got some strong, physical guys. And in preparation for this game (against Oskaloosa), I felt like it was a good matchup to have PCM without any practice time, because we don’t practice on the weekends typically, and I just felt like we don’t have to really change a whole lot. But I feel like it’s going to be another physical game for us.”
Coverage of Monday night’s boys basketball game between Pella Christian and PCM can be heard live on 92.1 KRLS and viewed live on the Pella Christian YouTube channel, beginning with the Scooter’s Coffee Radio Pregame show at 7 pm.
