The Norwalk girls bowling team picked up a dual win over Bondurant-Farrar on Tuesday, winning 2092-1769 at Pleasant Hill’s Bowlero. The Norwalk boys bowlers were defeated by the Bluejays, 2782-2615. The Norwalk girls wrestling squad also competed on Tuesday, placing fifth in their home invitational.

Bowling

The Warrior girls bowlers improved to 2-1 on the season, building a 232-pin lead following the individual round and adding to it during the Baker games. Julia Palen led Norwalk with a two-game series of 340 and Anna Curran rolled a high game of 196 en route to a 321 series. Curran did not leave a frame open until the fourth frame of her second game.

The Warrior boys trailed by 171 pins after round one and outscored Bondurant-Farrar by four in the Baker games. They are now 1-2 on the season. Top series scores for Norwalk included Tanner Housley with a 453, Brytan Bassman 417 and Gavin Housley 408.

Norwalk’s next meet will be Saturday, December 21, when they take on Newton at the Air Lanes Bowling Center.

Wrestling

A total of six Norwalk girls competed in Tuesday’s home wrestling meet as the Warriors finished fifth out of seven teams with 71 points. Pella placed first with 156.

Katie Liedtke led Norwalk with a first-place finish at 170 pounds, pinning all three of her opponents. Lizzie Reeves placed second at 235, going 1-1 with a win by fall. Madelyn Carroll and Brookelynn Lonnevik both placed third in their bracket.

Norwalk will wrestle in a dual tournament at Ankeny’s Northview Middle School on Saturday.
