The Pleasantville girls basketball team defeated Madrid on the road Tuesday night as the boys team came up short and the wrestling team went 2-1 at a quad hosted by PCM as Tommy Booth secured his 100th career win.
The Trojan girls were dominant against the Tigers beating them 46-16. Joelle Johnson had 20 points in the contest while Taylor Perkins had seven. The Pleasantville girls are now 4-1 on the season and 2-0 in conference play after winning their last four games.
The Trojan boys fell to the Tigers 82-39 and drop to 1-2 overall. Pleasantville was led in scoring by sophomore Braylon Bingham who had 16 points. Both the girls and boys basketball teams will be back in action on Friday against Van Meter.
The Trojan boys wrestling team went 2-1 at a quad hosted by PCM. Pleasantville defeated Pella 43-30, Sigourney-Keota 46-26, and fell to PCM 38-33. Senior Tommy Booth secured his 100th career win for the Trojans. Booth, who had qualified for the state tournament multiple times, has put together an impressive career for the Trojans. Pleasantville will next compete on Saturday at Tri-County.
