The Norwalk boys wrestling team improved to 2-0 in Little Hawkeye Conference duals on Thursday night, winning 56-13 at Oskaloosa. The Warriors won eight out of 11 contested matches, earning bonus points five times, and also picked up three wins by forfeit.
Four Norwalk wrestlers recorded first-period pins on the night: Kadan Borcherding-Johnson at 165 pounds, Tyler Stanford at 175, Victor Esparza 190 and Kolton Borcherding-Johnson 285. Dominic Tigner added a technical fall at 157. Blake Lee, Harrison Tripp and Jaydhen DeOliveira all won by decision.
The Warriors return to action on Saturday morning at the Johnston Invitational. A second varsity team will compete at Montezuma.
BASKETBALL
The Norwalk basketball teams finish the week at Pella Christian tonight for a girl-boy varsity doubleheader at 6:00 p.m. The games will be streamed live on kniakrls.com (KNIA3), starting with pregame coverage at 5:45. Both Norwalk squads are looking to improve their Little Hawkeye Conference records to 2-0.
