The red hot #9 ranked PCM girls basketball team will compete three times next week.

The Mustangs had their game Friday night against Greene County cancelled due to weather, but defeated Perry in their last competition on Tuesday night to improve to 6-0 on the season. PCM has seen a balanced scoring attack this year between senior Addison Steenhoek, junior Tori Lindsay and rising freshman star Libby Winters who are all averaging over 11 points a game. The Mustangs are also seeing strong production off their bench as 12 different girls have scored this season so far. Where the Mustangs have really excelled so far this season is on the defensive side of the basketball. As a team, PCM is only giving up 28.8 points per game and the most points they’ve given up in a game this year is 44. Coach Sami Allison-Rodriguez says her team wants to continue improving everyday.

“The 6-0 has been great, but we are just focused on getting better everyday and we have a tough road ahead of us over the next few games.”

The Mustangs will host North Mahaska on Monday, travel to Grand View Christian on Tuesday and host Nevada on Friday.
