Six players scored in double figures and the Simpson College women’s basketball team unleashed a dominant performance to secure one of the most lopsided victories in program history, a 115-40 win over Faith Baptist Bible.
The 75-point win marks the fourth-largest margin of victory in team history, while Simpson’s 115 points scored are the most since 2011.
The Storm (5-5) shot 65.2 percent in the first period while building a 33-5 advantage. Simpson led 57-18 at halftime, held Faith Baptist (11-2) to single digits again in the third to stretch the lead to 83-25, and outscored the Eagles 32-15 in the fourth to set the final margin at 75. Molly Lutmer had 15 points, 7 assists, 6 steals, 4 rebounds in the effort. Simpson’s 115 points are the most scored by the Storm since 2011 and tied for the fifth-most scored in a single game ever. Simpson travels to Florida to take on Mount Union and Lawrence on Dec. 20-21, respectively.
