The Indianola Police Department was fully staffed at 24 officers for the first time in 2024, including two School Resource Officers, a Community Service Officer, and more. Chief Brian Sher tells KNIA News being fully staffed has taken a lot of strain off of the department and lets it function more fluidly.
“There was definitely a lot of changes this year. In 2018 there was a staffing study done, and the staffing study showed that we should be at 24 officers. Due to covid and some other things in 2024 for the first time ever we made it to full staff, 24 officers on duty.”
Chief Sher will be featured on an upcoming program of Let’s Talk Indianola discussing the year of 2024.
