Joelle Johnson surpassed the 1,000 career point mark for the Pleasantville girls basketball team Monday night as the girls and boys team both defeated Ogden in a West Central Conference varsity doubleheader. 

The Trojan girls defeated the Bulldogs in commanding fashion 66-22 to improve to 5-1 on the season. Pleasantville was led in scoring by junior Joelle Johnson who scored 18 points to surpass the 1,000 point mark for her career. The Trojan girls have now won five straight games.

The boys team beat the Bulldogs 84-69 to improve to 2-2 overall. The Trojans were led in scoring by sophomore Braylon Bingham who had 38 points. As a team the Trojans hit a staggering 17 three pointers in the game. The Pleasantville girls and boys basketball teams will be back in action on Friday at Des Moines Christian.

The Trojan girls wrestling team competed at the Saydel Invitational Monday night placing 17th as a team with 13.5 team points. The Trojans had two varsity girls compete with Addie Koenig placing sixth at 145 pounds and Amelia Latch placing sixth at 155 pounds. The Pleasantville girls wrestling team will next compete on Thursday at Woodward-Granger.
