The Melcher-Dallas Basketball Squads will travel to Mormon Trail tonight as the Saints get back at it after losing two games each over the weekend due to the weather. The Saints were unable to play Moulton-Udell on Friday and then missed out on a trip to Wells Fargo Arena when their game against Meskwaki Settlement was cancelled. The other Saints have been a thorn in the side of Melcher-Dallas playing five times in the last calendar year with Melcher-Dallas winning four including last season’s Bluegrass Conference Tournament championship. Coach Kelsey Goff tells KNIA Sports, they do not need to change much in the last few games before the break.

Goff: “We don’t need to change too much with the next 3 games, and we finish out with Orient-Macksburg. going into those games, just play our way and don’t overlook anyone.”

During the Bound Era, Melcher-Dallas holds a 19-11 lead in the series over Mormon Trail including winning eight of the last nine meetings. The boys are looking for their first win. Mormon Trail is 2-0 in the early season Bluegrass Conference and holds an 18-10 lead over Melcher-Dallas in the Bound series, winning the 14 in a row. The last Melcher-Dallas win in the series was January 22nd, 2013. The girls tip off at six, with the boys to follow.
