The Newton girls wrestling team used four top five finishes to place ninth at Monday’s twenty team Saydel Invitational. 

The Cardinal girls scored two second place finishes with Stella Cupples at 115 pounds and Ashlyn VanManen at 190 pounds. Kylee Adams was third at 110 pounds, while Johana Cerna placed fourth at 140 pounds. As a team, Newton scored 78.5 points.

The Newton girls wrestling team will be at Winterset for a quadrangular at 5:30 this Thursday, December 19th.
