A series of ten public hearings are on the agenda for the Pella City Council this evening covering a wide range of zoning changes.
One of those also includes accepting a construction bid to demolish the brick former church building, the former single-family residence building at 606 Union Street, and site improvements at 609 E. 1st Street.
The meeting will begin with the swearing in of new Pella Police Officer Bailey Knouse, a recent Pella High School graduate who is returning to the Tulip City for a law enforcement career.
While there’s no formal resolution, the council will decide on the future of the proposed indoor rec center, renovations of the Pella Community Center, and extension of University Street east.
During policy and planning following regular business, the council will discuss a dog park proposal and an agreement with Pella Regional Health Center to pay for ambulance transportation. No formal action will be taken on either item.
