In a back-and-forth contest, a late second half surge fueled by a career-high 26 points from Cam Henderson, lifted Simpson to a 95-89 victory on Sunday afternoon.
Simpson (2-7) trailed by five with 3:35 left in the game, before locking down defensively in the final possessions, and using a 13-3 run to secure the road win. Henderson and Nathaniel Winter combined for 10 of the final 13 points as Simpson secured its second victory of the season.
As a team, Simpson outshot Bethany Lutheran 53.3 percent while holding the Vikings (2-6) to only 40.5 percent from the field. The Storm combined for nine 3-pointers, but carried the game at the free throw line, going 22-for-28.
