Central College men’s soccer forward Coleman Manuel and women’s defender Bailey Huizenga were cited as College Player Award of Distinction recipients by the United Soccer Coaches for the 2024 season.
The award was recently established for member head coaches to submit deserving players based on one or more of the following criteria:
- Player has achieved quality performance on the field;
- Represented the highest ideals of team leadership;
- Exhibited quality character attributes including sportsmanship and respect for teammates, opponents, officials and the game;
- Made other significant contributions to the benefit of the program and the community.
Manuel was a team captain and, on the pitch, scored three goals and added three assists for nine points. Huizenga was also a team captain while leading the team with 1,749 minutes played and started all 20 games.
