The PCM girls basketball team defeated Grand View Christian on the road Tuesday night as the boys team came up short in a Heart of Iowa Conference varsity doubleheader.
The #7 Mustang girls defeated the Thunder 54-33. PCM led the Thunder 19-6 at the end of the first quarter and went into halftime with a 32-16 lead. The Mustangs only allowed 6 points in the third quarter in another impressive defensive outing and closed out the game in the fourth. Libby Winters and Tori Lindsay led the team in scoring with 13 points a piece while Rebecca DeVries had 10. The Mustang girls improve to 7-1 on the season.
The Mustang boys struggled offensively and fell to a tough Thunder squad 67-32. PCM trailed 17-2 at the end of the first quarter and 37-9 at the end of the first half. The Mustangs couldn’t overcome the slow start and dropped the contest. The PCM boys fall to 3-3 on the season. The girls and boys basketball teams will be back in action on Friday at home against Nevada.
