The Knoxville Community School District presented the initial draft of the 2025-2026 school calendar at the school board meeting Monday night.

In the initial draft, school will start for students on August 25th, 2025 and will be done for the year on May 28th, 2026. Holiday break next school year would take place from December 20th – January 4th and spring break would be the week of March 16th. Knoxville Superintendent Cassi Pearson says this is a similar calendar to this school year with a few changes.

“It’s a pretty typical school year for us. The slight change is spreading out some of those vacation days. Our staff have asked for a long weekend at least once a month so that they can have appointments and get some things done without taking days off, and with the sub shortage we thought there was a lot of value in providing that.”

There will be a public hearing for the school calendar at the next Knoxville School Board meeting on January 13th.
