Those dreaming of a White Christmas are about out of luck in 2024. According to the National Weather Service, daytime temperatures in the upper 30s to low 40s will be in place for most of next week, starting Sunday, and continuing until the following weekend. State Climatologist Justin Glisan says at least an inch of snow on the ground during the Christmas holiday qualifies — and the likelihood of having that happen has become less likely recently. According to data released by the National Weather Service, Marion, Jasper, and Warren Counties generally have a 30-40% chance of at least one inch of snow on the ground on December 25th.
