The Pella Christian and Knoxville bowling teams wrapped up the 2024 calendar years for their respective schools in Oskaloosa on Saturday.
The Panthers, who had their match against Oskaloosa canceled last week due to weather, competed against both the Eagles and Indians on Saturday, with the girls going 1-1 and the boys going 0-2. Only competing against Knoxville on the day, the Pella Christian boys earned their first victory of the season while the Eagle girls fell to the Panthers. The Knoxville girls defeated Pella Christian 1625-1536, but fell to Oskaloosa 2100-1625. The Eagle boys defeated the Panthers 2210-1997, and the Knoxville boys also fell to Oskaloosa 2863-1997. Evan DeJong led the Pella Christian boys in their first victory of the winter, recording a 371, while Finn Spronk and Andrew VanKooten recorded season highs of 289 and 286 respectively. The Panther boys were led on the day by Troy Binns with a 416, while Conner Schultz posted a score of 258. Nicole Schultz was the top bowler for the Knoxville girls with a 238 during their 1-1 day, while Brigette Renard had a 221. Macy Van Der Hart led the Eagle girls in the loss with a 224, followed by Bella Pu at 218.
The Pella Christian boys improved to 1-4 overall on the season, while the Panther boys fell to 0-4 overall. The Knoxville girls overall record moved to 1-3 with their results Saturday, while the Eagle girls dropped to 0-4 overall. The Pella Christian bowling teams return to competition on Monday, January 6th, 2025 at ADM, while the Panthers bowling teams are back in action on Tuesday, January 7th, 2025 at home against Bondurant-Farrar.
