The Indianola City Council approved the Indianola Public Arts Commission to move forward with the “Illuminate Indianola” project at their meeting Thursday. City Manager Ben Reeves tells KNIA News the Indianola Public Arts Commission will light up the alley on the west side of the square near the newly acquired annex building, and connect the west parking lot to the downtown area.
“This is a great opportunity for the arts commission to come in, with a grant from BRAVO and some other funds they’ve put together. It will put some artwork on the sides, kind of a lighting artwork with a specialized artist that deals with bringing in illumination. It will have a beautiful look and theme to it, and we are excited about it and what great work they are doing.”
