The Executive Dean of the Newton DMACC Campus encourages people looking for end of year tax write-offs to consider the $4 million Legacy Plaza Greenspace project. Bill Peters says the greenspace will be a signature place for the community, DMACC students, and residents of a new adjacent apartment building. It will include a walking path, artwork and pavilion, and other features. According to Peters, over half the funds to complete the project have been raised.
“There are different giving plans. It’s getting to the end of the year. If you want to release some tax burden, donate some money to this. It’s donating to the Newton community and donating to something you will use.”
Peters says go to www.legacyplazadmaccgreenspace.com for more donation information.
The Newton Legacy Plaza is located where the Maytag Plant One production facility once stood, and will be the centerpiece of the DMACC Newton Campus. It connects the five acres on the east side of Buildings 1 and 2 on campus to the adjacent Legacy Plaza, with a walking path surrounded by natural vegetation and shade trees. Newton DMACC Executive Dean Bill Peters talks more about the Legacy Plaza Greenspace on today’s Let’s Talk Newton.
