Main Street in Knoxville is back open after being closed for the second half of 2024. 

This closure was part of the multiple phase street improvements project going on throughout the community. Phase one is complete besides the arrival of permanent street lights and phase two is nearly complete as well. The parking areas will be covered with asphalt millings over the winter, but are open for parking. A social media post by the city states that “this is not the final product we were hoping for before winter, but we are thankful we were able to get the main roadway poured and back open. The contractor will start back up in the spring to complete the project.”
