The family of a young girl who died shortly after her fifth birthday will keep her memory alive through acts of kindness again this winter.

While the season of giving technically ends on Christmas, the family of Milly Rose Zellmer encourages the community to share how they are helping others through Milly Moments, coming up January 24th through February 16th.

Milly died in a sledding accident on February 16th, 2023, and her mother Kristi has led multiple fundraisers in her memory to help others through the grief of losing her child.

“Milly spread so much love and kindness in this world, we want to encourage people to do the same thing by showing kindness to those around them. Milly had a special way of making everyone around her smile. We would love for these “Milly Moments” to be a part of everyone’s life, especially from her birthday to the anniversary of her death. This will help us smile as we remember her beautiful heart.”

From January 24 until February 16, the family is asking the community to do random acts of kindness. After having done something kind, they ask that the person leaves behind a card that shows the act was done in her honor.

Cards are available at the following locations.
– Blackstone Salon (Pella)
– Iris Coffee Company (Pella)
– Sundance Realty (Knoxville)
– Ramaekers Screen Printing (Knoxville)
– Grate Expectations Catering & Cafe(Oskaloosa)
– SkinFusion FX (Altoona)

The cards available for pickup will have a Milly bracelet attached that the recipient can wear and follow along on Milly’s Travels, if they wish. Learn more here.
