As the calendar gets closer to turning to 2025, the sports teams at Pella Christian High School are hoping to duplicate the level of success they found in 2024.
A pair of team runner-up finishes were among the many highlights of the last year for the Eagles, as the girls track and field and boys golf teams took second place at their respective State Meets less than a week apart. The Pella Christian girls track and field team won six individual and relay championship titles, marking the first event titles for the program since 1980. The Eagles boys golf team had the best season in program history, finishing second at the Class 2A State Golf Tournament at Coldwater Golf Links in Ames. Pella Christian shot a 307 as a team, falling just one stroke back of top-ranked Beckman Catholic.
2024 also featured multiple individual championships as well. The trio of Rachel Kacmarynski, Bailey Vos, and Meredith Van Wyk won four state championships for the girls track and field team, and Trevor Veenstra won the shot put for the boys track and field squad.
The boys and girls cross country teams were also State qualifiers on Eagle Lane in 2024, while the boys and girls basketball, boys and girls soccer, baseball, and volleyball teams reached either the substate or regional championships or semifinals.
