A Knoxville man is facing six charges stemming from a Sunday morning road rage incident involving a firearm.
According to a release from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, at 9:16 am Sunday morning, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office received a call from an individual that stated someone shot at him out in the County during a road rage incident.
Marion County Deputies and Knoxville Police Officers met with the caller and took a statement and determined the exact location where the incident took place. The caller thought he recognized the other driver and the Officers then proceeded to the scene of the incident at 140th Pl and G-44 and gathered more evidence. A Marion County Deputy was able to locate the vehicle of the other driver at that driver’s residence and started surveillance on it.
Members from the Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa State Patrol were able to make contact with the other driver at his residence. An interview was conducted and more evidence was seized from the residence.
As a result of the investigation,57-year-old Paul Dean Lutz from Knoxville has been arrested and charged with the following charges:

Intimidation with weapon-708.6
Person ineligible to carry firearm- 724.8b
Possession controlled substance schedule II 1st offense-124.401 (5)
Possession marijuana 1st offense-124.401(5)
Possession drug paraphernalia-124.414
