When the heavy snow of winter affects the area, the City of Indianola wants to remind residents to clear the snow around fire hydrants as well as clearing the driveway and sidewalks. Per the fire code, residents must clear a five foot radius around any nearby fire hydrants, and doing so can save precious seconds or even minutes if the hydrant is buried and unseen in the event of a fire.
