Last year was a record season for the Melcher-Dallas Girls basketball Program. The Saints won 18 games, and won the Bluegrass Conference Tournament title for the first time since 1998. The goals are the same, win the regular season and conference tournament titles, which will be held at Melcher-Dallas later in January and to win some games in the regionals. Senior player Addi Wadle tells KNIA Sports she not only wants to achieve those goals, but to leave a positive mark after she leaves the program.
Wadle: “I definitely think, in the past we’ve won a game or two in postseason so it’ll be fun to see what happens. I think we can win the conference again, but also to help the younger player and get them ready to play when we’re gone.”
The Saints will get back to action on Friday hosting Murray. Find an interview with Wadle and teammate Kianna Jackson on a previous Spotlight Athlete on Today’s Lely Radio Sports and tune in for a Let’s Get To Know segment with Wadle next week.
