Opening 2025 in victorious fashion, the Central College women’s basketball team concluded its non-conference schedule with a 70-57 win at Millikin University (Ill.) Wednesday.

Central (8-4) hadn’t played in over two weeks before venturing to Millikin, but showed no signs of rust, shooting 51.1% (24-47) from the field in the contest. Guard Emily Naughton was the top scorer for Central with 16 points, while forward CeCe Moore and guard Abby Johnson also scored in double figures with 15 and 10 points, respectively. Forward Bailey Reding led the Dutch with six rebounds off the bench to go with seven points. 

Central starts their stretch run of American Rivers Conference play with a 2 p.m. game at Coe College on Saturday that can be heard live on 92.1 KRLS.
